Well here we are back to February again and scanning the summer sky in the hope that no smoke appears like last year. The Australian economy seems to have dodged the recession that has plagued Europe and America, though bank lending to small business continues to be stifled. Who knows where to from here, but it is a great opportunity for repositioning your business to take advantage of the next upswing and what better way to achieve this than by promoting your brand with a functional promotional item which ensures exposure for long periods of time due to continued use. Increasingly we are seeing clients choosing technology products to this end, and most popular amongst these have been USB Flash Drives. They really do tick all the boxes as an effective promotional tool and we are very happy to say that we are able to offer these at greatly reduced prices for quantities of 100 units and over.

We can assure you of the most competitive pricing in the country and look after all your branding requirements as well as data uploads if required.

Further great deals for February are available on Non Woven Bags, Keyrings, Anti-Stress Items, Drinkware and other USB Devices and we welcome your inquiry.

Hi Friends,

Who wants to do a promotion using PENS? Well now is your time. You will never get an opportunity as good as this, to get your brand in so many new hands by using a printed pen from our selection at the current drastically reduced prices. From as little as $0.54 ea including a 1 colour/ 1 position print for 500 units, this represents bargain basement promotional value for you. With a great range to choose from including both plastic and metal pens, contact us now while stock lasts.

Is everyone as sick of the great SWINE FLU hoax as I am? Talk about a beat up by the media and drug companies! No doubt it will quickly fizzle just like the Avian Flu did, but I wonder how many hapless individuals have been intimidated by the scare campaign and have rushed off to get vaccinated with a substance the ingredients of which, they have absolutely no knowledge of, let alone its effectiveness to combat the targeted disaese.

Just one comment on the spending by Kevin 747 and his sidekick Swan – It apppears that the Carbon Emmission Trading Scheme is now on the backburner as we plunge into deficit and look set to stay that way for many a year. I don't know about you, but I have found that whenever I have been in strife financially, I have never been able to "spend" my way out of it. There is a big difference between investment spending and consumer spending, with the former crucial in positioning yourself to capitalise fully on the opportunities that will present themselves as soon as the recovery becomes apparent. Investing in our PENS could be your way to begin this process.

Love to hear from you soon.

Cheers from

Hi Friends,

We have just released our Headwear Catalogue at http://harmonypromoproducts.caprange.com Please check it out.Headwear is one of the most effective advertising mediums in the market place. Your potential customers will be viewing your message on the heads of your clients / staff for years to come. This represents huge visibility in your targeted market and a far greater bang for your buck than other forms of regular advertising such as TV or Newspapers. If you would like to send us your logo, we will be happy to do some mock-ups on product to show you what can be achieved.

We also have a few runout specials while stocks last on Tote Bags, Satchels, Document Bags, Flash Drives 512MB, USB Hubs and other IT items. Some of these are going out at 50% off, so contact us for details.

Very few of you have taken advantage of our free printing offer on selected Pens that we are offering for the whole of April, but you still have another fortnight to grab a great deal on these.

Ok – signing off now. Give me some comment on the Recession – Have we hit the bottom as some pundits are proclaiming? Even if we have everyone seems to be saying there are still more jobs to be shed – so what does the bottom mean? Most are focused on prices in the market, not people in the street and frankly it worries me. What do you think about it?

Cheers for now

Greetings to all our regular customers and potential new ones. As we all struggle to come to terms with the recent Bushfire Disaster, the worst in our history, and the tragic loss of life and property that came with it, the nation as a whole has had a huge outpouring of compassion and concern for the victims, and many of us have had cause to reflect upon our core values and reconsider our priorities in life. In times like this most connect with their hearts and cherish family, mateship and the community and seek to help those who have suffered in any way they can. We are starkly reminded that all material things can be stripped from us in an instant by the force of nature and we are then compelled to look at what remains in the aftermath. But for the charity of our fellow man and the kindness of the human spirit, many would not have the means or resolve to continue in the face of such huge losses. Suddenly the world economic crisis disappears from our conscienceness as the media go into blanket coverage of the tragedy from every conceivable angle, and of course ever mindful of the ratings bonanza that this will deliver them. People from all over the nation and abroad donate an extraordinary amount of funds to the Bushfire Appeal and governments give an open ended committment to help the victims rebuild their lives, and all this in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Do you think maybe some people have been holding out on us over this so called economic meltdown? In the 1930's crisis, I doubt the people would have had the capacity to give so generously and I wonder if the recovery from the current malaise is largely being prolonged by the reluctance of many people to invest their ample savings in a market which continues to trend lower.Do you think maybe this is now really a crisis of confidence rather than anything else? The so-called Baby Boomers had become obsessed with their superannuation payouts which they were eagerly looking forward to providing them with some form of security in their advancing years, only to see this savagely devalued in a matter of months. But surely the money is still in the system somewhere – I mean when the stops were hit, the shares or securities were sold, the money never left the system . The only new money comes via government printing or from banks creating it out of thin air when they instigate new loans with the push of a computer key, instantly devaluing the existing stock of currency in each case. How the Banks were ever given the power to perpetrate this fraud on the populace defies explanation.

Either way we are eventually going to emerge from the current crisis with a new confidence and many proclaiming that it will never happen again amid new regulations and tweaking of the old system here and there, but folks it will happen again as long as there are markets operating and the old elements of fear and greed driving them. Ultimately we all need to heed our lessons from the Bushfire Tragedy, 9/11, the Bali Bombing etc and realise that there are more important things than money in a truly fulfilled life.Unfortunately for the bushfire victims there is probably little more important to them than money at present, as they try to rebuild some structure back into their lives, and Harmony Promo Products will be supporting the Bushfire Appeal with 20% of their earnings from now until the end of the financial year. We ask you to please consider us for your next job as a way of helping these poor unfortunate victims.

In the meantime if you are thinking of using PENS in your current promotions, we are offering FREE PRINTING for 1 colour / 1 position including Setup Cost from now until 30th April 2009 on a range of Pens as well as selected Keyrings,Stress Items, Office Supplies, Cooler Bags, Wine Carriers, Vacuum Flasks, Wallets, Technology Items, Calculators and other products totalling 150 different items in all. Please contact us further details if any of these interest you.

Also a great NEW ATTENTION GRABBER has just hit the scene and this is the TATTOO SLEEVE made from a stretchy fabric with one size fitting most adult arms and legs. Your Logo or Brand printed with a up to 4 colour process print will certainly be noticed on these amazing new items. Once again contact us for great deals and for further details on these.

Stay well, be happy and see you all again soon.

Perhaps the most common question we are asked relates to the different methods of decoration available on the promotional products that we supply, and I am therefore listing a few of the more popular options together with a brief description of what is entailed in each method. This is merely intended to give the reader a brief overview of the process and hopefullyincrease your understanding of what is the most suitable decorative option to meet your own particular needs.
Virtually anything you can think of can be decorated in one or more methods. The most common methods available depending on the product are:
Pad Printing, Screen Printing, Plastisol Transfers, Decals, , Laser Engraving, Etching, Sublimation, Embossing, and Embroidery.
We also attempt to clarify the reasons for and what is involved in the process from which Setup Fees are derived.

Decoration Pricing

As a general rule the cost of decorating any item is based on the number of colours involved in the image, whether there is more than one position or image to be applied and the number of items to be decorated. The main exception to this rule is embroidery where it is the number of stitches that determines the price not the number of colours involved. Pad Printing, Screen Printing, Plastisol Transfers, Decals, Off Set Printing and Embroidery all have multiple colour options.

 Set Up Fees

Initial set up fees apply with virtually every form of decoration. 99.8% of these fees are quoted separately to the decoration costs as they generally apply only to the first decoration run. Some decorators will also charge a reduced set up fee for repeat decoration runs.
Set up fees are charged to cover the cost of putting an image onto positive or negative film, making a printing plate for each colour and setting up a jig to ensure each item is decorated in exactly the same position. This can be a lengthy process which is why it is usual to have up front fees on the first run rather than incorporate these fees into the decoration costs and pay them again and again on repeat runs.
Set up fees will vary from decorator to decorator depending on what is involved in setting up a job for the form of decoration chosen.

 Decals

Decals are normally used to decorate porcelain, glass and ceramic items. These decals with one or more colours are produced, then applied to the item i.e. coffee mugs and placed in an oven for up to 6-8 hours at a temperature of 800 degrees. This almost melts the image onto the mug leaving a very permanent decoration

 Plastisol Transfers

Plastisol transfer is a process of applying a transfer (sticker) with one or more colours to an item. Transfers are often used on products that have a rough surface i.e. bags or hats where screen printing cannot give you the definition or fine detail that may be part of the image used for decoration

 Rubber Logos

Moulded rubber logos are a new innovation for logo decoration. They are stylish, cost effective and excellent for a ’subtle’ branding look. These are available with a solid or transparent base. Unfortunately this optioncan only be accomodated on orders of 500 pieces or more and can only be done on Indent orders.

 Metal Logos (Laser engraved)

Laser engraved logos present the same image as the moulded metal logos, but are more practical for smaller quantities and intricate decoration. Available on bags and caps

 Metal Logos (Moulded)

Strong durable metal logos present a permanent and strong image to enhance your brand. Available on bags and caps

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving is used primarily on metal type objects. Stainless steel items and silver or gold metal objects are often laser engraved with an image as an alternative to pad or screen printing, paticularly where the item can be subject to wear and a more permanent decoration is required such as with Keyrings

 Etching

Etching is a similar process to laser engraving and is used as a method of decorating glassware with a permanent image. The image appears to be coarser in comparison to the rest of the glass.

Sublimation

Sublimation is simply a process of transferring a photo or picture and applying it to ceramic objects , stubby holders, t-shirts and the like. These look great and result in photo quality images on your products.

Embossing

Leather, PVC and paper items are often embossed. This involves the stamping of an item such as a compendium, diary or folder with an image in silver or gold foil . A block is made of the image and then the image is stamped onto the object. Certain objects i.e leather items can also be blind embossed leaving an image indented into the product without either silver or gold foil involved

 Embroidery

Embroidery is a method of stitching a logo onto clothing, hats, bags, towels and many other items. Multiple colours are available and it is the only multiple coloured process that does not have a separate charge or separate set up fee for each colour. The logo being reproduced is digitised by using a specialised embroidery digitising software. The cost of embroidery is based on the number of stitches in the design and the number of items being embroidered

 Pad Printing

Pad printing is a process of using a silicone pad to lift up an image from a printing plate after it has been inked and transferring the image to another surface. Each colour requires an individual plate. There are restrictions on how large an image can be depending on the type of product. Items traditionally pad printed include pens, pencils, keyrings and a wide range small promotional and small gift items.

 Screen Printing

Screen printing is a process where an art screen in placed over an item, i.e T-Shirt and ink is then applied over the screen. Each colour requires an individual screen.

Process Printing

When a full colour printed logo is required, process printing provides
excellent reproduction quality and is durable and hard wearing. Ideal for back packs, sports bags and t-shirts/apparel.

This represents a brief summary of the most popular options available, and we hope this has been of some use to you in coming to your decisions on decorating products.

Till the next post. Take care

Cheers from Tim & Annie and the Crew at Harmony
